Star Events: Learn more about the STAR event options
Advocacy: This STAR Event allows you to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and abilities to identify a local, state, national or global concern or issue and research the topic, identify a target audience, form a plan of action, and then advocate for the issue. If you feel you want to make an effort to positively affect a policy or law or simply raise awareness for a serious concern, complete an Advocacy STAR Event.

Career Investigation: This individual STAR event recognizes participants for their ability to perform self-assessments, research and explore a career, set career goals, create a plan for achieving goals, and describe the relationship of Family and Consumer Sciences coursework to the selected career. This event will definitely help to narrow down your career interests for the future.

Entry: Individual or Team (maximum of 3) Event
VISUAL GUIDELINES:
- Use of the planning process to develop your project and include the planning process summary.
- A tri-fold display board, not exceeding 18” deep X 4’ wide X 4’ high, with no use of electrical equipment.
- There must be a 3” X 5” index card attached to the lower corner on the back of the display that identifies: Name, Chapter name, School, City, State, Grade, and District.

We would like to remind you about the official dress code for National Leadership Conference. It must be worn at all official business meetings and general sessions. If you are not wearing the official dress you will not be allowed in. Below is a description of the official dress
Official blazer is required• Professional white shirt • Neckwear options can include the neckwear from the official emblematic supplier; black tie; black bow tie; single strand of pearls; red, black, and/or white scarf; or no neckwear • Black bottoms (slacks, skirt, sheath dress) • Shoes (black preferred) • FCCLA red blazer
