From Ms. Elizabeth in the Health Office:
Hello Carol Rae Families. I was looking forward to focusing on new topics this year, and putting covid in the rearview mirror. Sadly that isn’t the case, so I’m back with a few reminders.
We have seen a generous amount of positive cases at Carol Rae in these first few weeks of school. While masks are not required, I do very strongly encourage you to consider having your children wear masks to school. The amount of positive cases we’ve had in the first month of school without masks is approaching the total number of cases we had all of last school year where masks were worn.
Please remind your children to practice social distancing when possible. At school I still recommend fist bumps or air high fives instead of hugs, and to refrain from sharing drinks and snacks with friends. And of course, wash those hands!
And as a side note….please remember to send a water bottle to school with your kiddos. It’s HOT out there and I’m seeing sweaty kiddos who don’t have a water bottle.
Let’s have a great year!
GPS Health Services
Dear Carol Rae Parents,
This school year we continue to work hard to keep our campuses safe and our students as healthy as possible. If one of our Nurses or Health Assistants calls to inform you that your student is ill or that they have been identified as needing to quarantine please understand that we are following the guidance of the Maricopa County Department of Health and the CDC, and that this is required by the Arizona Department of Health. We understand that having your child home from school for an extended period of time can cause undue stress and we appreciate your support in following these required guidelines. Thank you for your understanding and support of our nurses, health assistants, and front office staff during this challenging time. They are doing their very best for our families and it is important that we all work together.
Should you have questions or concerns please call the District Health Office at 480-545-2117
