Mission Statement

The mission of Helen Keller Elementary School is to establish and maintain an educational community that empowers all students to become principled, independent inquirers who are socially responsible global citizens.

Important Dates

  • Open House: March 29th @ 6:30 p.m.
  • No School: March 25th and April 1st-8th
  • Late Start for Student/Professional Development for Staff: April 13th, 20th, and 27th.

Computer Support in the Media Center

When a computer needs to be serviced in the computer lab, please email the OS Help Desk and CC Jean Simmons. Make sure to indicate Jean Simmons as the person to contact if there are any questions so that you are not interrupted during instructional time. It will also allow Jean to problem solve as well.

SRC Survey

As of now there are only four responses. Please make sure to take the survey as your feedback is important!!

--> This survey is intended for any teachers who have students that currently utilize the SRC program OR who would like to have their students utilize SRC next year!

Filters for Flint!

DON"T FORGET TO DONATE! Dave Potter and I will be collecting donations to help buy filters for Flint. All donations should be turned into the main office with Filters for Flint written on the envelope. All checks should be made out to Keller Elementary School. The collection will start today and run until March 31st.

MSTep Testing

Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the M-STEP Test starting in April. A schedule will be sent home with specific dates.

Special Education Parent Advisory Committee

Royal Oak Schools has a Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). The next meeting of our PAC is scheduled for Thursday, March 24, 2016, at our District Offices, 800 DeVillen Ave. Royal Oak, MI 48073. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. A meeting on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, is also scheduled. To learn more about the PAC, including how to follow PAC activities on Facebook, visit the PAC website.

We are still looking for a parent to represent Keller on the Committee.
