Raider Update
A Weekly eNewsletter from Hastings Public Schools
Message from the Superintendent
Happy Weekend Raider Families!
Just a few items of interest this week. Hopefully, you have remembered to adjust your clocks for the Daylight Savings Change. Second, in case you aren't aware, three new board members were elected to the Hastings School Board; Carrie Tate, Jessica Dressely, and Mike Reis. New Board Members begin their term in January 2022. Lastly, please make a note that this Friday already marks the end of the first quarter. The school board has begun the budget adjustment process for the 2022 school year. Work sessions and Regular meetings will have time dedicated to this process through December.
Our COVID numbers have come in at 22 for the week:
HS - 7 students
MS -10 students
Elementary - 5 students
Our 14-day per 10,000 case count for the county is up at 66.4, and our district case count is up to 81.6.
While we are not offering vaccination clinics at our school sites, parents who choose to have their students 5 years and older can find a location by visiting this link.
Have a wonderful week!
Bob McDowell, Ed.D.

Application for Educational Benefits
We need your help!
You can help generate state aid for our school district by completing the attached Application for Educational Benefits form, or you can fill it out online by going to the Hastings Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services page.
Only one application is needed per household. You don’t need to guess if your household qualifies, you fill out the form, and the district will take care of the rest. Students in households that meet the free or reduced-price meal guidelines will generate compensatory revenue for Hastings School District. This revenue helps meet the needs of students behind their peers, such as remedial instruction, instructional materials including digital learning and technology, bilingual programs, and additional teachers and teacher aides.
Thank you for taking the time to fill out this application!
