TRANSITIONING TO DISTANCE LEARNING!
Friday, November 20, 2020
Parents and Guardians
As we begin the transition to distance learning, please know it will be very different from what we experienced last spring. We are better prepared. Students and teachers have established routines and expectations that can carry over in a dIstance learning format. Teachers have worked hard, developing more interactive lessons, balancing daily caseloads, and providing timely and descriptive feedback. We incorporated a daily social and emotional curriculum into our M&M advisee classes, and we are committed to keeping students connected during distance learning.
On Monday, November 30, we will have a short video message for the students and share any new information before we begin our live google meet schedule.
We are available for any questions.

Parent Guardian Checklist
Please meet with your child to put a successful distance learning plan together:
- Clarify your/school daily expectations for your child. It is important to develop good habits from the start. Create a routine and talk about how it’s working over time. Students should get up, get dressed, and be ready to learn at the start of the school day. Keep normal bedtime routines, including normal rules for digital devices. Adjust schedules to meet everyone’s needs, but don’t default to staying up late and sleeping in. Begin and end the day by checking in with your students. Stay positive and confirm that all work is completed.
- Go over the schedule/details below.
- Establish a plan for checking in and monitoring your child's progress. Some middle school children may need more regular check-ins.
- If your child cannot participate in a lesson please contact the middle school attendance line.
