Fill Out the Application for Educational Benefits
Over 9,000 SPPS students have not filled out their Application for Educational Benefits. While meals are free for all students this year, it is critical that all families complete this application. These applications help to ensure your school receives funding for both in-person and distance learning programs and supports.
Families can complete an application three ways:
- Online at schoolcafe.com/spps.
- On the SchoolCafe app that is currently available on students' iPads.
- By contacting Nutrition Services at ns@spps.org or 651-603-4950 to have a paper application mailed home.
Click here to complete the application.

Daily Attendance:
Student Attendance During Distance Learning
- During distance learning, it's more important than ever that students stay engaged in learning. This year, students and parents - working together - will keep track of student attendance, student participation and grades through Campus.
Taking Attendance
A student or a student's parent or guardian should complete daily attendance once each school day. When completed, the once-daily attendance process will confirm attendance for all of a student's classes for that day.
To take attendance, students should log into their Campus Student iPad app, located on their iPad home screen. Parents who are taking attendance for their student should use "Campus Parent" at spps.org/onestop.

Message from the Principal:
I hope this weekly update finds your family safe and healthy. I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the support you are providing your scholar in your home during distance learning. It has been a difficult journey thus far, supporting and educating students from a distance, and it would not be possible with out you! Your patience with teachers figuring out how best to deliver instruction and your support of your scholar accessing online school is truly a partnership for which we are thankful. We appreciate all the feedback, questions and your suggestions as we continue to improve instruction and learning.
Grateful,
Teresa Vibar

Coats for Kids
The Salvation Army has begun its coat drive. The Salvation Army’s centers are a place for families in crisis to get help, including coats for their children. Visit any of our Twin Cities Worship & Service Centers to learn about meeting your child’s need for a coat. Supplies may be limited, so we recommend contacting the nearest location before stopping by to find out if supplies are available in the sizes you need.
Families can register with their local Salvation Army:
