Romeo And Juliet
Juliet: Act II
What It's About
In this monologue Juliet is contemplating the meaning of a name. She wonders that if his name wasn't Romeo Montague, would she still love him?
Before She Says It
Right before Juliet says her monologue, Romeo has snuck over the wall of the Capulets and started talking to himself. He is wishing that he could see her again when she walks out onto her balcony. At first he doesn't show himself because he wants to hear what she is saying to herself. That is when she says this monologue.
