Health Tip of the Week
Creative expression: Choose a creative outlet to convey your thoughts and feelings. This could be journaling, writing poetry, painting or drawing, doing photography, dancing, or playing music. The key here is channeling your emotional state through an art form. While some may choose to do this seriously and take lessons, self-taught artists of all kinds also get the job done. And, don’t strive for perfection! Simply immersing yourself in creative arts can ward off adverse thoughts and feelings.

Good morning teachers, parents, students, liaisons etc,
We know this year has been hard on all of us, especially our students. In an effort to bridge the gap on misinformation about the college admissions process for Latinx students, the Latin American Association returns this year with their Pathway To College virtual series. You all are cordially invited and have first row seat access (from your living room couch or outside hammock) to our 3 part virtual series that will include topics such as: The College Admissions process, which College is right for you, and how to pay for College. Whether you are an educator trying to learn how to better assist your Latinx students on college, a parent who wants to learn about the resources their child has here in the US, or a student who is navigating this process all on their own…Join us as we embark on this rollercoaster that is college/ university TOGETHER.
We will offer sessions both at 11am and 6pm to fit the needs of our families so you have TWO chances to attend. The information being presented at 11am will be the same at 6pm and you are free to join us at either time. Registration is necessary and you can register at the link below. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with the zoom link. In an effort to simplify the process this year, we have decided to use one zoom link for the entire series. I have attached the Flyer for this years’ workshop below if you would like to share.

Thank you and best wishes!

ThoughtExchange and GCPS
What are we doing well, and what can we improve to help build relationships between students, families, staff, the district, the board, and the GCPS community as we work together to support student success in Gwinnett County Public Schools?
We need your input on building relationships within our schools and district to support student success so we can learn what’s most important to everyone as we move ahead together this school year.
We will be using your thoughts to create a prioritized list of ideas for the leadership team to determine the next steps as we head into the second quarter of this school year. We are using ThoughtExchange, so everyone has a chance to share their perspectives and understand what’s most important to our GCPS Community.
Please share your thoughts and then rate at least 20-30 of the thoughts that others have shared. Your participation is confidential, so no one will know who shared or rated which thoughts. Personal attacks on students or staff will not be published. Please come back often through Monday, October 31, to share and rate new ideas.
