Bear Bulletin

A Message from Mrs. Venghaus

Bear Branch Family,

As an update to the email sent yesterday from MISD, we will now be on short-term remote learning for Tuesday. Students should have received a paper copy of Tuesday's work today from teachers. Please know these assignments are also posted in Canvas. I have attached the letter sent from BBJH below that includes more details on remote learning. Hopefully we will see everyone back on campus Wednesday. However, please continue to watch for information on possible school closure. If this is the case, we will continue on short-term remote learning.

We hope everyone stays safe and warm, and maybe have some fun in the snow!

Proud to be your student's principal,

Lady Bear Basketball

7th Grade B Team

The 7B Lady Bears lost an intense game against Oak Hills Junior High Thursday night. Rebecca Russel was the player of the game last night, leading the team with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Other scorers of the night were Faith Funnell, Violet Unruh, and Liba Shazhad each contributing to the score as well. Lillian Kaiser really showed up defensively last night with multiple steals. So proud of the teams improvement and their effort. The Lady Bears will take on Tomball Junior High next Thursday at home.

7th Grade A Team

The 7A Lady Bears fell short against a very aggressive Oak Hills team Thursday night. The Bears fell behind in the first half but made a comeback in the third quarter. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to defeat the Lady Lions. Leading scorer for the Lady Bears was Landry Pitcock with six others contributing to the score including Emily Hubbard, Kailynn Fosdick, Brooke Baird, Stevie South, Neha Sasser, and Mallory Capehart. Defensively, Leah Wendinger lead in steals while Devyn Tanguay dominated in rebounds for the Bears.

The Lady Bears will take on Tomball Junior High next Thursday at home.

Congratulations to the 8th grade b team. They beat oak hills 43-34 giving them a two week winning streak. Girls played hard and came out on top. Tatum young led the team with 11 points and Keeli McNaughton followed with 10 points. Defense was led by Clara Graham with 6 rebounds and 2 steals along with Cayla Rhodes also with 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Rachel Oldham and Tori Salinas made some great defensive stops to help the team pull out the win. Let’s keep it going next week against Tomball. Go lady bears

8th Grade A Team
