Building on Strengths - Learning and Growing Together

Cambridge Springs is ALL IN

As we start the second quarter at Cambridge Springs Elementary we are reminded how important it is to look to the future with positivity and hope. We are mindful that in-person instruction offers the best academic opportunities, supports the social and emotional needs of our students, and fosters the unique aspects of our small neighborhood school community.

Thanks to the hard work, dedication and creative thinking of our District Administration, PENNCREST School Board, Faculty and Staff we had a successful launch of the 2020-2021 school year. The cooperation and focus of our students enabled us to optimize 8 weeks of in-person learning resulting in both reading and math student growth as measured by our Renaissance STAR Screener administered the first week of school and then again last week.

Thank you for being ALL IN with us during the first quarter. Without your support our student learning and subsequent growth would not have been possible.

As COVID numbers increase in NWPA and the PENNCREST School District transitions to a hybrid model we are asking that you please continue to be ALL IN by following DOH recommendations of wearing a mask, social distancing and hand washing/sanitizing frequently. It is the hope of the faculty and staff at Cambridge Springs Elementary that COVID-19 data trends will decline and the PA Department of Education will support our district's return to in person learning Monday to Friday for all students after January 11, 2021.

Attendance & Grading

Students need to be ALL IN this quarter maximizing days at CSES for in person instruction as well as ensuring they are actively participating through Google Classroom when at home. Students, when not in the building, are expected to be participating virtually following directions in their Google Classroom, watching lessons, completing and turning in assignments. Unlike the spring, new instruction will be occurring daily, assignments will be graded, attendance taken daily and report cards updated. Now more than ever, communication will play a vital role. Please be sure to utilize DoJo, emails and phone calls to remain in contact as needed with your child's teacher.
