Points of #PHMExcellence
Penn-Harris-Madison is a state and national leader in Excellence in Education, and now thanks to Penn High School junior Felix Zhang and Penn Calculus teacher Mrs. Denise White we can say we have the #1 Student in the World! Zhang recently learned that he earned a perfect score, not missing a single question, on the college-level Advanced Placement® (AP®) Calculus AB Exam last spring—the only student in the world to do so! Click for more details and to see the local and national news coverage.
Congratulations to Felix and his family!
We thank the amazing work of all P-H-M math, and all teachers do to help all students reach their fullest academic potential!
Arrival and Dismissal
Thank you for helping ensure our students are kept safe during arrival and dismissal. It is important that parents remain in their cars at all times. We have three cones numbered 1, 2, and 3 in our carpool designated area. Cars are expected to pull forward into those spots to drop off and pick up students. Please make sure to pull all the way forward to ensure we can maximize our arrival/dismissal space and time. Students should be entering and exiting on the right side of the vehicle. Staff will be encouraging students to open/close doors independently, but will be available if assistance is needed. Students should be unbuckled and ready to exit the vehicle at arrival to cone 1, 2, or 3. If your child needs help buckling up at dismissal, please pull forward into one of the available parking spots.
Students are expected to be in the building by 7:55 AM or the child is considered tardy. If you arrive after 7:50 AM and do not see any staff members outside, please bring your child(ren) to the office (Door A).
Visitors and Volunteers
Please remember if you are interested in volunteering in one of our classrooms you MUST complete a background check (see below) and the PHM Volunteer Bullying and Harassment Training for Madison. If you are unsure if your background check is still valid, please call Gina or Patty in the front office.
At Madison we are encouraging all of our visitors to preregister with Safe Visitor. Pre-registration is available to make the check-in process at the school run faster. Click here to utilize SafeVisitor’s Online Pre-registration process.
What to expect when you arrive at the school:
- All visitors will now be required to present a valid photo ID, which may include a driver’s license, State issued photo ID, or passport every time you enter as a school visitor.
- All approved visitors will have a picture taken at each visit and receive a temporary badge that must be visibly worn at all times.
- All visitors must return to the main office and check-out at the front desk, returning their badge.
As always volunteers are needed and appreciated!

I’ll look forward to seeing you all at this very special event!

P-H-M no longer distributes paper flyers or other promotional items of outside organizations through our schools. Please do not print and send flyers to our schools for distribution.
Instead, we now post digital flyers on our Community Events & Activities section of P-H-M District website at this link: https://www.phmschools.org/community-events-activities (linked below, as well) There is also a link back to this page off all 15 school websites.
Social Emotional Learning
P-H-M is committed to helping students reach their fullest potential, which includes the whole child! Please visit the PHM website HERE for various valuable parent resources to help you in supporting your child.
