News and Announcements

Join Us For Our Annual Back To School Night!

On behalf of Walnut High School, we are happy to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! We hope the first two weeks have been a smooth transition for your child. Out of an abundance of caution as we still navigate COVID, we only allow ONE parent/guardian per child to our Back to School Night on September 1. Only ONE parent/guardian can enter the classroom to avoid overcrowding or standing-room-only classrooms.

Our evening will begin promptly at 6:00 pm, starting with 0 period. Our first period will begin at 6:16 pm. This is an excellent opportunity for you to follow your son/daughter's daily schedule and personally meet each teacher, learning about the class, goals, and expectations for the school year. Our student leaders, GLCs, administrators, and performing arts groups will be around campus, helping you find classrooms, answer any questions, and pass out campus maps.

Please click the link below for the official letter, schedule, and campus map as you prepare for Back to School Night.

Parent and Student Volunteers Needed

Every six years, WHS is required to renew its accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). A self-study process is required for this accreditation. This process helps us write an action plan for the kinds of changes that will help our school continue to thrive and remain one of the best comprehensive high schools in California. The voices of our parents, students, and community members are an important part of our self-study. Our Focus Groups will benefit greatly from your experience and ideas. Please scan or click the link below and complete the volunteer application if interested.

Nutrition Services' Online Prepayment System

WVUSD Nutrition Services are experiencing some delays with transitioning to their new online prepayment provider, TITAN (family portal).

TITAN (family portal) online prepayment system will replace eFunds.

TITAN (family portal) has more options for parents/guardians to manage their student's account.

If parents/guardians have already made payments using eFunds those payments will be transferred to TITAN.

The money is not missing. Nutrition Services truly apologizes for this inconvenience. In the meantime, parents/guardians can send cash or checks with their students. They also accept payments in their office, Nutrition Services - 880 S. Lemon Ave., Walnut, CA 91789.

Please contact Emmalyn Coles, Director of Nutrition Services, with any questions or concerns.

Do you need a Chromebook for the School Year?

Students who checked out devices during the period of Distance Learning and Summer School are expected to return those devices. No other device will be checked out until those are returned.

2022-2023 Rules & Expectations at Walnut High School

During summer registration, students and their guardians watched the rules and expectations video for the upcoming school year. If you did not have a chance to watch it, please take a minute to view the video to help you be successful this year!

Parents: One thing you will notice this year are tardy or cell phone detention automated emails. If your child was issued a detention for excessive tardies or a cell phone violation, you will get an email with information on the detention they need to serve.
