Principal's Message
Dear NFM@Crawford Families,
As we’re gearing up for the remainder of the school year, please go to our school website and look at our calendar of events. On Monday, May 2nd, we’ll collect the reading logs and donations for our school’s Read-A-Thon! Have them turn in their log and donations to their classroom teachers.
Please consider donating raffle items for our Trivia Night Fundraiser on May 7th. We’re looking for gift certificates for stores, restaurants, and services--or donated items that will help us to sell raffle tickets. Cash will also help! We’ll use the funds we raise to pay for continuing education for teachers and field trips for students. Please email lkmilford@gmail.com if you’re interested in donating. Thank you!
Next week is “Teacher Appreciation Week”! Please encourage your child to write a special note for their teacher. If you would like to help with Teacher Appreciation Week, please sign up here:

Spring ART show!
The Annual Student Spring Show at the Creamery Arts Center is coming up and Shannon needs some volunteers to help prepare the artwork. We host this student show along with the North Fork High School every spring. After school on Monday, May 2nd Shannon could use help with matting and labeling. On Tuesday, May 2 (time to be determined) she could use help hanging the show at the Creamery Arts Center. Finally, on Friday, May 6th there will be an opening reception and we need donations of seltzer water, fruit juice, and paper cups to make a punch for the event. Please email Shannon if you are available to help with any of these show preparations. **See flyer on our website for event details.

Montessori Moment
Experience is important! Children need to try new skills, visit new places and meet new people and cultures. These opportunities help them to build a framework for understanding and integrating new information. In the words of Gideon- “Kid’s learn from their mistakes” Alysia- “We should treat the environment nicely.” Michael - ”You learn easier with material” Mila- “Children learn what they see around them.”
What are some of the experiences you have been able to provide or would like to provide your child?
