NCCS 2023-24 School Theme Verse

Business Sponsorship at NCCS
We are excited to announce that we are opening up sponsorship opportunities for 2024-2025!
Sponsorship applications are accepted December through March, with benefits running from June to June of each year. For example, you can submit a level of sponsorship in March of 2024, we will honor it from June 2024 to June 2025. We are accepting several levels of sponsorship and are excited to be able to feature your business on our campus and in various school publications. Thank you for your prayerful support to benefit the mission of NCCS!
Please direct any questions to Susan Van Sickle in the business office, email@example.com.
Pastries with Parents
We will be gathering from 8:15-9am on January 4th to discuss the topic of PURPOSE. We will be using the Purpose Parenting Guide from AXIS as a source for our discussion. If you have time to review this document before we gather, feel free. If not, just come and discuss with other parents and educators about this important topic. Feel free to bring any resources that you would like to share on this topic to add to our discussion next month.
Parenting is a challenging job, but it is one of our greatest callings from God. Know that our staff are praying for you and are thankful to partner with you on this journey. We will meet on black top after student drop off and then walk together to room 404 for this time together. See you there!
January 8-12 is Homecoming Week at NCCS. There will be a special focus for our 50th anniversary at the basketball games on Friday, Jan. 12. Alumni and family will be admitted to the games free of charge.
We will recognize our Homecoming King's Court before the girl's varsity game, scheduled to begin at 6pm. The full presentation of the Court will be on Wednesday at a special chapel program (10:35am). For our secondary students, this week includes a lip-sync competition and themed poster designs for class competitions. Posters will be on display in the gym for viewing.
Jan. 12 Basketball Schedule: JV Boys @4:30pm, Girl's Varsity @ 6pm, Boy's Varsity @7:30pm

International Student Hosts Needed
6th Grade Christmas Blessings
The 6th grade class held their “Black Friday” event (much like a Christmas bazaar) on the morning of Dec. 8. This class activity allows the students to work in teams to practice economic and math concepts, showcase creativity, practice advertising and persuasive writing, and ultimately raise money and collect food for those in need.
With the incredible support from the entire school community, the 6th grade class raised $1,734 and collected 339 pounds of food! The money raised through sales went to benefit World Vision, where the students chose from the catalog of items (farm animals, Bibles, water, tents, school supplies, etc...) to send around the world. The food collected went to supply the food pantry at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Oregon City.
This is a very special annual event and we appreciate all the generosity of everyone to bless those in need!
Class Auction Basket Donations
Each year, every class creates a class project as well as sponsors a class basket for the annual spring auction. Information about class projects will come out a little bit later. Together with their classes, teachers choose a theme for the baskets and begin collecting items. The details are below.
What: Class Auction Basket for the NCCS Auction on April 13th
How: Sign up for and drop off items in labeled black totes in the school lobby. Attach a note with the value of the item. Monetary donations go to the school office. Please avoid cash if possible and please specify which class it’s for so we can keep this organized.
When: Items and monetary donations are due no later than February 2nd at 3:45 p.m.
Why: All donated items will help raise money for our school, through the auction.
Class basket themes are listed below with a link to a Sign Up Genius. If you’re able and
willing, please sign up to bring as many items as you’d like.
First Grade: Baking
Second Grade: Beach Day
Third Grade: Coffee
Fourth Grade: Game Night
Fifth Grade: Cozy Time with Jesus
Sixth Grade: Fitness
We would love to provide you with a tax deductible receipt, if you’d like one. Please fill out the donation form and attach it to your item before putting it in the labeled tote. These forms will be available in the lobby for your convenience.
Please email Ann Davis (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions!
Parking Lot Reminder
When dropping off or picking up students, please do not park in the driveway lanes. We need to keep the traffic flowing and we must have a driver in the car at all times. We ask that you find a parking spot or pull up to the crosswalk for your student to use safely. Thank you!
Local Churches for Those Needing a Place of Worship
Please make church attendance with your family a priority. It is an expectation that NCCS parents and students attend a Christian church. We hope our families are attending a Christian church and are involved in that community, in person. If you are looking for a home church, we encourage you to check out our list of local churches where we already have school families attend.
