WELCOME TO ARLETA'S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER!
We’re so glad to have you as part of our school community!
This weekly newsletter is developed and sent in partnership between school administration and the PTA. If you have information you'd like shared in the newsletter, please email it to ArletaSchoolPTA@gmail.com. Keep scrolling for the latest.
It was so delightful to see our Kindergarten and First Grade Hybrid students this week!
We’re looking forward to starting back with hybrid instruction for all K-5 on Monday, April 5th. Students in the CDL (online) model will also start the new schedule. Please call the school at (503) 916-6330 if you have not already heard from your child’s teacher. See the table below this letter for the K-5 student schedule. Hybrid students do not come to school on Wednesday.
Dismissal and arrival are different in Hybrid so here are a couple of important links. We’ll have people outside to help but please look at the maps to know where students will be entering the building and where they can be picked up. You may drop students off at the curb if you drive them or park and walk them to the entrance but please maintain a 6 foot distance from others and wear a mask at all times. As always, have a conversation with your teachers about special situations.
Schedule for 6-8
The hybrid Middle School schedule will start April 19. The Middle School schedule for K-8 schools follows the starting and ending times of the elementary students. The final schedule will be available next week but these are the general guidelines.
I will be holding a virtual meeting Tuesday evening, April 6, from 6:00-7:00 to answer questions and provide more detailed information about the Middle School schedule.
Meeting ID: 828 0949 4424
All students will attend online classes in the morning (CDL and Hybrid) in a Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday cohort.
Classes begin at 8:00AM and end at 10:35
CDL students will work on asynchronous assignments when not in live instruction
Hybrid students will attend in-person classes in the afternoon in the same Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday cohort AND will work on asynchronous assignments when not in live instruction.
Hybrid in-person classes will not be new instruction but rather support for the asynchronous assignments (applied learning).
Hybrid in-person classes will begin at 12:15 and students will be dismissed at 2:30
Monday/Tuesday (Cohort A)
Monday (Period 1-3)
Tuesday (Period 4-6)
Thursday/Friday (Cohort B)
Thursday (Period 1-3)
Friday (Period 4-6)
Wednesday mornings (about 2 hours) will be reserved for CDL students to get support with asynchronous (applied) learning through small group online meetings and/or office hours with teachers.
Thank you to our teachers and to all of you for your continued patience and flexibility as we make this transition.
SCHOOL MEAL DISTRIBUTION HAS CHANGED
Once a student returns to hybrid in-person instruction, meals will be sent home with students at the end of their in-person sessions. They can take home as many meals for their household as needed.
If a student is staying in distance learning -- or if their hybrid in-person learning has not begun -- they should visit any of new meal distribution sites between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. on school days to pick up meals. See the image below with the locations.
HOWEVER, if families cannot get to those other sites, reach out to Nicole Francois in the office (503-916-6330 x 79441, or email@example.com) or one of the counselors and we can accommodate.

The Arleta PTA participates in THREE no-cost shopping rewards programs - Fred Meyer Community Rewards, AmazonSmile and Bottle Drop.
