Magnet Program Information for Parents of Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade Students
NJSD Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Parents:
Do you notice that your child demonstrates a depth and complexity of thought, formulates new ideas and solutions, uses extensive vocabulary, and may use alternative methods when approaching unfamiliar mathematical problems?
If this describes your child, then he or she may be a highly intellectual student that would benefit from participating in our Magnet Class for High Ability Students. Magnet Classes are designed to offer students opportunities to work at a greater depth and/or breadth or at a faster pace than in the regular classroom setting.
We will share more about our highly impactful Magnet Program and classes at our Zoom Magnet Program Parent Informational Meeting on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5-6 p.m. The informational meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Magnet Curriculum, meet the Magnet Teachers, hear about Magnet Testing, and find out more about how to get your child involved in this program.
You must register by clicking here to attend the Magnet Program Parent Informational Meeting and get the Zoom meeting link and password.
For further information on our Magnet Program, including an informational video and the registration form for testing, visit our Magnet Program website.

PBIS Updates!
On Friday, November 5th we recognized what makes each child YOU-nique at our quarterly Roadrunner Way Celebration. To kick off our Be You all school celebration, all students met in the gym to celebrate our Roadrunner Rockstars and to celebrate all of the safe, respectful, and responsible choices that were made during the first quarter. After gathering as a school, students participated in a show and tell activity, book and author session, chalk silhouette decorating, a teacher Guess Who game and many other activities that celebrate our differences. It was an enjoyable day for all staff and students who were involved!
As a school, our goal is to continuously collect and reflect on our data in order to meet all of our students' needs. With this being said, our October Data has shown that there were 28 Major Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs) and 28 Minor Office Discipline Referrals (ODRs). More specifically, students are demonstrating that they are struggling with physical aggression and fighting. In order to address this data, the students will be participating in a booster during the months of November and December that will reteach expectations and give students the skills needed to regulate their bodies and be safe in the school environment.
Spring Road Winter Concert!!!!
All students will take a school bus to the high school for a final rehearsal on the morning of their concert, and will return to school after the rehearsal.
Students should be dropped off between 5:35-5:45 at the NHS Cafeteria, to meet with their teachers and line up in concert order. Please do not drop off your child before 5:35, as there will be no teacher supervision before 5:35.
Parents are requested to keep their child’s coats during the performance, and to make sure their child has used the bathroom prior to drop-off.
Doors to the auditorium will open at 5:35 p.m. The concert will begin at 6:00 p.m.
Students are encouraged to dress nicely for the evening concert.
The main part of the auditorium and the balcony will both be open for audience seating
Following the concert, all students will be escorted by teachers to the cafeteria, and parents may pick up their child at the cafeteria. We appreciate your help to ensure the safety of all.
Masking guidelines:
Students will be masked while performing and watching the concert.
If a student has a speaking part/narration they are able to be unmasked for this specific time and then need to mask as soon as they are finished talking.
Mrs. Rahmlow is able to be unmasked while directing
For audience members, masks are optional (except for our students and staff)

Help for the Holidays
Boys and Girls’ Brigade Holiday Assistance
The holidays can be a stressful time for families who need financial assistance. Being aware of community resources that are available to help may make your holidays a little bit easier and a lot more enjoyable. One of those programs is the Boys and Girls Brigade Christmas Giving program. With this program families are “adopted” and given items such as clothing and toys.
If you would like to be considered for assistance through the Brigade Christmas Giving program please contact Mrs. Hendryx, Elementary Social Worker. You must contact Mrs. Hendryx directly to be considered for this program. All requests must be submitted by November 19th.
For questions or to be considered for the program please email cassandra.hendryx@neenah.k12.wi.us
Please be aware that your family cannot receive assistance from the Brigade Christmas Giving program if you are also getting assistance from another program, such as the Salvation Army. Filling out and returning paperwork does not guarantee participation in the program - just consideration. You must live within the Cities or Townships of Neenah or Menasha.
