Henry's Discoveries
Henry Moseley discovered and measured a property that was a link to the periodic table. The atomic number became more meaningful, and the three pairs of elements that seemed to be wrong cold be explained. Moseley used a brand new device, an electric handgun to fire a stream of electrons at samples of different elements. He found that the gave off X-rays. He measured the frequency of the X-rays given off by different elements. Each of the elements had given a different frequency and he discovered that this frequency was mathematically related to the position of the element in the periodic table, and he could actually measure the atomic number.
