Attendance Matters

Attendance is essential for the progress of a student at school. The following are some rules/regulations to remember regarding the district attendance policy. Make sure to pay close attention to this section of your handbook which is available online.

-Anyone arriving after the school day has started are required to check in through the office.

-If students need to leave school early, parents/guardians should sign those students out through the office

-Provide a doctor's excuse when possible

-A total of 5 absences will be excused, for reasons listed on page 4 of the handbook, based on parent/guardian notification via call-in, email, or note. Once the limit (5) has been reached, parents/guardians will receive a letter requiring doctor's excuses for future absences.

-A maximum of 3 days will be available for family cultural/educational activities annually. Forms are available in the office and on our school website. These forms must be filled out PRIOR to the requested days.

-After an accumulation of 3 unexcused absences, a student will enter into Tier 1 for attendance interventions which will include a conference with an attendance supervisor or designee and an attendance contract.

PTA News!

PTA Purchases Add To Our Learning Environment

Special thanks to Haynesfield PTA, parents and the school community. PTA helped with the purchase and installation of our new digital sign during the first semester of the 22/23 school year.

The PTA wrapped up the 2022-23 school year with a great walk-a-thon dedicated to the purchase of wind screens for our playground fences.

They also helped with teacher appreciation week and end of year treats-Kona Ice for all our students.
