Valley Forge
Winter at Valley Forge was really rough for Washington and his troops with about over 10 thousand troops and not enough houses with still 12-15 people cramped in a house, people had no houses and winter storms were coming . People there were frightened and dead scared and they had no high spirits left in them but they did not leave because of George Washington and his sprit and sacrifices for independence against the British. He was the one that held all the lose ends together and strong also he was the one the trainer for them to fight with the French against the British.
The Severe Winter at Valley Forge
People at Valley Forge all were together but when winter struck no one cared about others it was you or no you and everyone was savage for food water and supplies. So George Washington sent a letter to the Hampshire legislature for supplies but barley any supplies came. When winter was still going Washington started to give consequences if you were in a fight against each other.
Small Pox
Next a disease started to spread like wildfire called small pox you would start to get bumps every where and busies and blisters and then die. It was a fight witch over 1/5th of his men got sick but some survived. They started cutting holes in people who have not got small pox yet and put a small pox In the hole so they could fight the disease and it would go away , it was a risk but he did it and many people survived small pox and lived. At the end over 1 thousand people died at Valley Forge Altogether.
Von Steuben
On 1778 Friedrich Von Steuben a former Prussian military officer and drill Sargent arrived at Valley Forge and teaches the army how to fight, fire a gun, close to close combat, and many other skills people used in professional army's in wars and many drills.
THE END
Altogether if you sum it all up Valley Forge was one of the hardest if no the hardest things and places the army faced an it was the most effective one to teach the army how to fight and survive.
