Social Media Concern -

If you have watched the news or been on social media, you may have heard of the character "Huggy Wuggy". "Huggy Wuggy" is a character in a Poppy Playtime horror game, where one parent review stated that blood and killing are apparent. We wanted to share some information regarding the character and things to be on the lookout for. Below you will find a couple of articles that talk about the concerns regarding "Huggy Wuggy" inspired videos on YouTube, as well as the Commonsense Media information tied to the game that the character is in. After looking on YouTube kids, it looks as though you are only able to pull up tutorials on how to draw "Huggy Wuggy," however, we know how fast content can be added and potentially not filtered. With YouTube, however, there are a lot more "Huggy Wuggy" and "Poppy Playtime" inspired videos that may include graphic images and suggestive language (some things that may be inferred are rape, drugs, violence). Some students have reported seeing the Huggy Wuggy character in Roblox games. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
