Patrick McCann, Bristol Myers Squibb
Do you want to listen to loud music, wear torn jeans and a hoodie, grow long hair and a beard (boys only...sorry ladies), and not worry about tattoos while you work in your career? If so, you may want to be a SCIENTIST! Scientists are only concerned with what your brain can do and not what you look like, speak like, or act like. So if you have a good brain and you don't want to wear business suit all day, join Mr. Patrick McCann and find out about his experiences and opportunities in Science. Mr. McCann earned a B.Sc. in General Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University, an M.Sc. in Molecular Biology from Rutgers University, and an MBA from UConn. He worked in academia, a start-up biotech, and a large pharmaceutical company as a research scientist. He has physics BS, molecular biology MS and business MBA degrees, and has experience in the lab as well as entering the business world from the science perspective. There are also many ways that science is integrated into law, government, the environment, as well as the more obvious paths like medicine and lab science.
