A message from Mrs. Smith
We had a GREAT turnout for Tuesday's Curriculum Night! If you missed hearing about your child's wiring, feel free to come tonight to hear Kathleen Edelman share the temperaments!
If you are a car line parent we need your help! Please remind your children to stay in the car until they are dropped off. We have had a large number of students hanging out the windows or sunroofs. Our SRO will begin giving citations. If you arrive early, please do not block the fire lanes. The fire lanes are marked in red. We all want to keep our Colts safe!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Smith
Carpool Etiquette
For the safety of all our Colts and staff, please follow these simple reminders when dropping off your child in the morning or picking up your child in the afternoon.
- Students should enter and exit the car on the passenger side only (morning and afternoon).
- Students should not be dropped off in the parking lot to walk by themselves to the building (morning).
- Please do not let students out of the vehicle before 7:10am and/or drive off (morning).
- If you need to help buckle your child, please pull down to a designated safe area, place your vehicle in Park, and turn on your hazard flashers before exiting your vehicle (afternoon).
- Please pull down the line as directed by staff to minimize space between vehicles. This will help move the car line more quickly and efficiently (morning and afternoon).
- Please do not allow your child to hang out of the windows or sunroof.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we begin a new school year. Our priority is always the safety of our students, staff and families of Kelly Mill.

I need to drop off items for my child:
- We know that students may occasionally forget items essential to the instructional day (such as glasses, technology, and lunch) at home, and a parent must drop them off at school. We ask that you consider if the item is essential for school or if it could be a learning opportunity for your child. If you drop off an item, we will do our best to get it to your child’s class, but we cannot guarantee the delivery.
I need to check-in my child to school:
- Parents must sign their child in upon late arrival.
- The school day begins at 7:40AM. Students are expected to be in their classroom ready to receive instruction at that time.
I need to check-out my child from school:
- If it is necessary for a student to check out before dismissal, the latest a student can check out is 1:45pm. Please make arrangements to have your child picked up before this time.
