The Fire that Fuels us is the Fire that Guides us..-Message from Principal
Dear Dragon Families,
I wanted to share with you "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. I wanted to start by talking about what is a habit? Habits are things we do repeatedly. Most of the time we are hardly aware of what they are because we do them on autopilot. Some habits are good like exercising, planning ahead, and showing respect for others. Some are bad like blaming others or thinking negatively. Some really don't matter like adding hot sauce to everything or listening to music when you exercise. But depending on our habits, they make or break us.
Thank goodness we are stronger than our habits. We can choose to make or break them. Like, fold your arms. Now fold them the opposite way. Feels weird? If you did this for 30 days, according to Covey, you would start to do it the opposite way automatically. That's how long it takes to make a habit.
Before we get started, here are 7 habits that can help you:
- Get control of your life
- Improve your relationships with friends
-Make smart decisions
-Get along with your parents
-Overcome self-destructive habits
-Define what matters to you most
-Get more done in less time
-Increase your self-confidence
-Find a balance between school, friends, and everything else
Every day is a fresh start that can lead to an excellent finish- your task- find something you want to change and start to try!
