Building Connections Through Communication!
I'm not a theater critic, but here's my review of Our Town
I highly recommend you attend tonight or tomorrow. Our young actors and actresses have worked so hard and put in so many hours. Take a few hours of your own time to enjoy yourself and the wonderful work of art our kids and director have produced.

MRHS - Our Home Away From Home: A short story
Mr. Clute congratulated me on having such "wonderful and polite students" at MRHS. He went on to give an example of how each time he visited our school a student would often be the first to let him in and welcome him warmly. I responded that I appreciated his compliment, but would defer to our parents, guardians, grandparents and teachers who have raised such polite and responsible young citizens.
I travel 1 hour to school each morning and 1 hour home (sometimes longer in the summer) and each day I tell my son that I am going to school, or that I had a great day at school. He would ask me "dad, why do you call it school and not work?" I answered him that it's only work if you'd rather be somewhere else. I love the people here at MRHS and especially enjoy spending time watching our students grow!

Shark "Shout Outs" MRHS's way of Appreciating the Great People That Make Our School "A Home Away From Home"
The Monomoy Regional High School Athletic Teams and the Monomoy All Sports Booster Club would like to thank the entire Monomoy Community for coming out last Sunday and supporting the All Teams Car Washes. Through your generosity we were able to raise $1500 to help defray the cost of winterizing our concession building project.
A huge shout out to Hinckley's Home Center and Shaw's/Star Market for providing us with their businesses to hold the car washes. They displayed the epitomy of a community/school partnership. A partnership that we will cherish and build on.
The Athletic Department would especially like to thank Cathy from Hinckley's, Amanda from Shaw's/Star, Ms Chulaka for the car washing supplies, Coach Richer, Coach Peterson, Coach Arnold, Coach Clark, and all the Student/Athletes who came out to man the car washes.
A special thank you to Kathy Andrews, Karen Guillemette and her husband Jay for all your efforts!
Shout out to Deb Donovan for just being an amazingly helpful and caring human being. Thank you for being an unofficial mentor to so many - both students and teachers!

Shark Shout Out to Margaret Martin from the Congregational Church in Chatham for donating beautiful pumpkins (pictured below) to our Culinary Arts classes. They made for great carving, including a "Trumpkin"!

Check this out! High School - Middle School Music Connection
MRMS Principal Mark Wilson summarizes our teacher led idea of students helping students in music. He sent this letter to his fifth grade parents. Pictures above and below show this concept in action.
Dear parents / guardians of MRMS fifth graders:
Monomoy Middle School is always seeking opportunities to connect students with community resources to strengthen our instructional program, and so I am excited to share that beginning on Friday, November 4th, our fifth grade band students will receive musical mentoring from Monomoy high school band students during their (our fifth graders) regularly scheduled band rehearsal.
The MRHS students, who are in grades 10-12, will travel to MRMS under the supervision of their high school music teacher, Rosemarie Richard, and she will remain with the HS students as they work with ensembles of our middle school students. This is a great way to support our band program and to build connections between students and our two buildings. Our high school student-mentors will be here on days 1,3, or 5 - when the HS schedule aligns with ours - to support your child's musical growth.
In addition, Amanda Koslowski, the MRHS Band Director's assistant, will be at MRMS on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 2:40 until 3:30 to provide instrument lessons to our 5th grade band members. This opportunity is in addition to our Thursday morning "band4rookies" club. The afternoon sessions will begin on Thursday, November 10th.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or questions!
Respectfully,
Mark Wilson, MRMS principal
