Mr. Doyle's Message!
WAHOOOO... We made it through our first official FULL week of Remote Learning! As is the case with anything that is new, the hardest time is in the beginning. I can tell you from the Google Meets I have joined and feedback from teachers/parents, things are looking up! Students are becoming more independent and are beginning to understand the processes and procedures to be successful, virtually. Again, I want to thank all of your for your continued support.
Moving forward, if you have an immediate need or question, please contact the front office,
815-338-1133 and we will do our best to problem solve with you. From 8 am - 2:10 pm, teachers are teaching. It is too difficult for them to juggle answering Dojo messages while trying to run a small group of students. Also, please know that the Google Meets is for LIVE instruction and interaction between teachers and students. This is not the time for parents to "unmute" and start asking questions or voicing concerns. Please save those for either after school hours or be sure to contact the front office.
Again, we are all doing the best we can in unprecedented times. Patience and grace will go a long way! Thank you. :)
Enthusiastically,
Ryan

E LEARNING AT THE WOODSTOCK LIBRARY
The library is equipped to provide a limited number of learning spaces for D200 students who need a comfortable space and internet to attend their e-learning D200 classes. Space will be allocated on a first come/first served basis, although the library reserves the right to switch to registered spots should it become necessary. To accommodate the schools class schedules the library building will open early for D200 students (and their adult caregiver if in fifth or lower grades).
- Middle- and high- school students will be on the Upper Level [aprox 22 spots available].
- 5th Grade and younger students, with parent/adult caregiver, will be in the Children’s Room [aprox 14-18 spots available].
- Tables will be spaced more than 6-feet apart. Only one person allowed at a table, with an exception for adult caregivers/siblings.
- Library will open early at 8am Mon-Fri for D200 students (and parent/adult caregiver if required) only. Admission will be showing their D200 Chromebook at the front door. Other than internet access, library services will not be available until building opens to the public at 10am.
- Headphones with microphones will be required for all students.
- Misbehavior, including but not limited to, clustering, not wearing masks over nose and mouth, or disturbing other students will result in loss of library privileges.
- Students should bring water bottles or money for the vending machine as the library's water fountains are disabled.
- Middle and High School students who e-learn in the library should be self-reliant and prepared for the day with lunches, and a plan to get up and move (e.g. take a walk around the block) during breaks between classes.
Masks covering nose and mouth must be worn by everyone in the building at all times.
