PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents,
It was SO good to see you and your children at the parade on Friday. This morning I met with some of the staff for our weekly Zoom meeting and it was clear that our staff were still feeling the emotional roller-coaster from being in the parade. It will most certainly be a highlight in many staff’s careers and we want to thank everyone who was able to participate. For those unable to participate, please know you were missed and we look forward to seeing you again as soon as possible!
As mentioned in my email on Friday, this Thursday, May 7th, from 11:00 AM – 3:00PM, we are asking parents to pick up their child(ren)’s belongings. We have bagged each student’s belongings and will have them in an organized manner for pick-up. We ask that adults be the only ones to pick up the bags of belongings but recognize that some will need to bring their children with them. Children are asked to stand against the fence and wait as adults pick up belongings. Thank you! If you are unable to pick up your child(ren)’s belongings, you might consider asking a neighbor to pick them up for you since we do not anticipate having another date this school year to pick up student belongings. We will also have student medications to give to parents, Dorian spring photos and packets to hand out for students unable to connect remotely. The distribution of packets, medications, pictures and student belongings will take place outside at the under-cover playground area. Both gates leading to the undercover area will be open. Our fifth graders are holding a drive on this day and will have collection bins at both entrances to the playground. For more information, please see the flyer below.
We are catching up with our birthday celebrations next week on Wednesday, May 13th. Look for an invite from your teacher for April breakfast with the principals at the end of this week. We will celebrate May birthdays the last week of May and June birthdays the second week in June. When we return to school next year, anyone unable to attend the breakfasts will be invited for a gathering during lunch times. If you have a birthday in April, we hope to see you bright and early next Wednesday!
Wishing you and your family a great week!
Janet and Jim
