What is it?
Welcome to the II edition of ToF. If you are interested to gain experience in youth work within the non formal education frame, and how to facilitate activities, this course is for you.
This training is an opportunity to get and introduction about techniques, methods and practices in facilitation within the Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme.
The main aim of this training is to increase the quality of facilitation in all the activities developed within the frame of Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme, providing the participants basic competences in facilitating group process.
Objectives
To provide participants with basic competences in facilitating group processes.
To discuss and practice facilitation techniques.
To offer tools and resources in the topic of facilitation within the Erasmus + Programme
To foster future cooperation and the exchange of experiences and good practices among the participants
Contents
The training course duration is 9 day, including travel days. During these days we will work on the main contents of what is facilitation and how to work it:
- What is? Concept of facilitation.
- What is not facilitation?
- Our experiences. From theory to practice.
- Managing group process
- Group dynamics.
- Facilitation styles.
- Communication techniques.
- Fostering participation.
- Our handicaps…
- R&R (Research and Resources for the facilitation)
We want to offer a working space where the participants could share their experiences and reflections gained during the training and go further in the concept of facilitation.
Program Flow
Methodology
There was a balance between theoretical concepts, practical learning and use of concrete and useful tools. The training course was based also in an holistic way of working where body, emotions and reflection were interlinked across the whole course.

Toni Pozo
I’m free Lance trainer in the non-formal educational field.
I’m specialized in training and facilitation of activities within the Erasmus+ programme, mainly those related with volunteering; youth work mobility, non formal and informal learning processes, international cooperation, and international sport programmes.
I’ve been involved in international youth programs since 1995, and I’ve collaborated as project designer, coordinator, trainer and facilitator for different European National Agencies of the Erasmus+ Youth and Sports and SALTO-YOUTH R.C.
I’m board member of the Centre d’Estudis de l’Esplai (Leisure and Educational studies research centre) from Palma de Mallorca (Spain) since 1991.
Diego Marín
BACKGROUND IN TRAINING:
Living in Spain, Diego is specialized in experiential learning and non formal education since 1997. For more than 15 years working with groups of various kinds, youth and social workers, teachers, health workers, trainers, public staff, groups of adolescents, prisoners, etc. Founder of the Cazalla-Intercultural Association is currently working on Euroacción Cultural Association of which he is the president. He is a member of the Pool of trainers of the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe, Spanish National Agency for Youth and the SALTO trainers Pool (Support for Advanced Learning and Trainining Opportunities).
Training overview
This Training Course is for 24 participants from Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme countries and recommended for Youth workers, Youth leaders, Group leaders, youth workers (professional o volunteers) who are newcomers to facilitation and have experience in Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme (theoretical basis and practical experience), they are motivated to learn and be actives in the facilitation field.

Costs
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.
