"Everyone. Everyday. Whatever it takes."
Gorka's Gab
The information Kelly Locke, presenting to us today has a major impact on our lives. The better we understand anxiety, the better we can support our students but most importantly, support ourselves! I look forward to us growing our understanding together so we can best support each other. I am so thankful to get to work with so many wonderful people who truly care about making a difference and are willing to step outside the box to do so!
I have attached a picture of employee speech rights during bond elections. Please educate yourself. Also, click the link below to educate yourself on more details. Please share this information will all of your voting neighbors and friends!
I have attached the Student Support Services newsletter below. It always has useful information to apply in our classrooms.
Next Wednesday is "Read for a Better Life"! Mrs. Morrow will share an email this weekend of all the happenings on campus that day to support our campus emphasis on literacy.
The links to purchase your "jeans passes" are below. You don't have to have a "jeans pass" to wear a college shirt or a motivational shirt. As we learned today let's overload our students Amygdala's with positive quotes and slogans.
Have a restful weekend!

Reminder to teachers: Do not allow hoods on in class. Phones should only be out for classroom instruction. Without consistency we will confuse students on our procedures in place.

Next Friday, September 20th, the progress report button will be open and ready to load grades for the 6-weeks progress report. This is an important progress report as it will decide eligibility for UIL. Teachers should be proactive with inviting students to tutorials and contacting parents if students are failing.
For the 6-weeks progress report:
- At least 2 Major Grade and 6 Daily Grades
- Every student needs a grade- No blanks
- No Incompletes, 69's, or Grades over 100
- UIL Eligability: Can loose eligibility
- Please check over grades before you save them to make sure they are correct.

Please find our list of the CHS9 Campus Committees that we will use this year to CONNECT with students and staff: Thanks in advance for your "ALL STILL MEANS ALL HANDS ON DECK" initiative. Committees will host their first meeting this Wednesday, September 18th.
Monthly Meeting Schedule: The first Wednesday of the Month is for our Faculty Meeting. The second and fourth Wednesday of the month are our BIT meetings. This committee will be divided in half so members serve only once a month. All other committees meet on the third Wednesday of the month.
Counselor's Corner
Thank you teachers for your support in showing the PSA over suicide and posting the flyer we left in your box. We were able to have meaningful conversations with students and parents because of your willingness to help this cause. Things to remember when dealing with a student experiencing suicidal ideation:
-Do not leave student unattended
-Report it as soon as possible by calling the AP/Counselor office
-No matter the student, always remember to take every outcry seriously
We hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy Friday the 13th 😊
-Your Counseling Team
