A letter to you from Principal Beninga
Dear Tiger Friends and Family,
When I moved from Serene Hills to West Cypress Hills several years ago, I was amazed at the friendly and helpful reception I received. I was very happy to be named your Assistant Principal then, and, now, I am greatly honored to be named Principal of West Cypress Hills Elementary School.
We have a beautiful school full of beautiful children with the best volunteers and staff in the world. I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to continue my association with all of you as our school principal. As has always been the case in the past, our goals at West Cypress Hills continue to be to educate our children in a safe and caring environment so that they are successful learners.
I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you at our PTO General Meeting at 9 am on Wednesday, February 27. This meeting will be in the Tiger’s Den (aka the school cafeteria.)

Mrs. Melanie Beninga has assumed the role of our Principal, and Mrs. Mary Patterson is our new Interim Assistant Principal. To give everyone an opportunity to visit with them in person, they will be meeting with us at our next PTO General Meeting in the Tiger's Den (aka cafeteria) from 9 to 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 27.

The Wall of Fame for Shoe Tying for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders
Once notified of the student's successful shoe-tying accomplishment, we will provide your student with a paper shoe to color, take the student's photo, and then post the photo and customized paper shoe on our WALL OF FAME FOR SHOE TYING!
It's going to be really exciting to see our young Tigers on the WALL OF FAME!
Our clinic needs new or gently used leggings, shorts, and pants
Nurse Hensel, as the keeper of the wardrobe, has reported a need for small, medium and large girls' leggings. She also needs, for boys and/or girls, small, medium, and large athletic shorts and pants.
We would appreciate your keeping Nurse Hensel's needs in mind if you have gently used clothing that your children no longer need. Many thanks!
