Frankfort High School Newsletter
2020-21 School Year, Aug 20th
School Starts Virtually Next Week!
In working with teachers, students and our SBDM council we have worked to ensure we deliver remote instruction that will be completely synchronous with live instruction delivered by teachers daily, as well as social and emotional support continued through our RISE mentoring.
The video below will overview our Virtual Schedule, as well FHS Orientation Week, August 24th- 28th. Live classes will be with Monday Morning Meeting on August 31st! We can’t wait to see you at your assigned orientation! See below.
Orientation Week
August 24th - 28th
Parents should have been notified the week of August 14th with a call from one of their students teacher as to when their student's set time for Orientation will occur. It varies by group. See schedule below.
During this time students returning to FHS will pick up their schedule, pick up their chromebook, hotspot (if it has been requested and accepted), meet with their teachers, and have any questions answered by staff.
FRESHMEN/NEW STUDENTS ONLY
We are inviting all new students to Frankfort High School during a designated time to come to the high school for an hour and a half onboarding training. At Frankfort High School we utilize Summit Learning for our core classes which has allowed us to have great academic successes over the past 4 years. This system takes some getting used to and we feel that in order to set students up for success, we need to give them a hands on experience to be introduced to how they will be working this year.
We have set these times up so that they will be oriented at the same time as their mentor group and be able to meet their mentor for the year as well. Your child will also receive their class schedule at this time. All social distancing and safety guidelines will be followed and the space will be disinfected between each group. We hope they will be able to attend as this session will be extremely beneficial for them.
SOPHOMORES-JUNIORS-SENIORS ONLY
We are inviting our SOPHOMORES/JUNIORS/SENIORS to come to the school on their assigned days to pick up their device as well as meet with an exchange contact information with their teachers. Teachers will be set up on the front lawn of the school so that we can safely complete this process and follow all social distancing and gathering guidelines. Students will also be able to pick up their class schedule at this time. We hope to see them there to kick off the school year!
