Academic After School Workshop

Through funding provided by Title I, Carter MS is offering an After School Workshop in the media center each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 - 3:55 pm beginning Feb 23 - Jun 1. This is a drop-in workshop where students will benefit from our Certified, Highly Qualified teachers reteaching, reviewing and reiterating the various key concept that are currently being taught in their core classes; ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies.

This is an excellent opportunity for students to get the extra assistance that they need to be successful. Nutritional snacks will be provided.

Carter Band News:

Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade band students who participated in MSBOA District XVI Solo and Ensemble on Saturday, January 16. All students performed well and brought many first and second divisions.

The Carter Concert (7th Grade) and Symphonic (8th Grade) Bands are hard at work preparing for the 2016 Pre-Festival Concert which will be held at the Performing Arts Center (12901 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312) on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 7:00p.m. Possible extra credit for 6th grade bands students attending this concert.

On Friday, March 4, 2016, the Carter Concert and Symphonic Band will be performing at the MSBOA District XVI Band Festival. This performance will be at Warren Woods Tower High School (27900 Bunert Rd, Warren, MI 48088). Performance times to be announced.

The Carter Area Concert will be held in the Sterling Heights High School Gym (12901 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48312) on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 7:00p.m. All Carter bands (6th, 7th & 8th Grades) will be performing.

If your child is absent from school due to an illness or appointment, please call the attendance line below. If your child needs to leave early, please send a note signed by a parent with the student to the main office in the morning. A pass will be written for your student to leave class. Classroom calls are limited to avoid interrupting instruction per Ms. Hendry.
