We will be placing an order for as many Chromebooks as we can from our fundraiser to replace the existing Netbooks. I am also trying to get a quote for the caddies as well so that you have an easy place to store the computers in your classroom. Ashley Hankins was able to make three easy logins for our Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade students. I emailed these logins to those teachers on Monday, 12/8. I will also post that information on the collaboration site under Shared Documents.

The Netbooks will remain in your classrooms at this time. When you have one that no longer works, you can turn that in to Kaye and we will add it to our technology salvage. Items in salvage get picked up during the summer months.

Think Through Math training for 3rd & 4th grade teachers

January 14th Keller-Harvel Elementary (Professional Development Room) 3:30-4:30

January 21st Caprock Elementary 3:30-4:30

If you would like to attend, please sign up in My Learning Plan (session name: Think Through Math – 3rd and 4th grade)

This is not a mandatory training although we would love for you to join us!!

The training will give educators a better understanding of how Think Through Math works and how to run reports to drive instruction in your classroom. If you plan on attending, please make sure your login for TTM is correct and that all your students have been entered prior to training.

If you need assistance please contact Chrissy Greeling.

KISD Strings Concert

On Thursday, December 18, the strings students will be performing a short winter concert in the cafeteria at 5:00 pm. They should be totally out of the building by 6:00! They are expecting 120-150 parents to attend so our parking lot will be full.

Please lock your classroom doors before leaving school Thursday afternoon.

Great Things are Happening because of the Sunshine Committee!

We have lots of fun things planned:

  • December 1 - February 27th - Every Wednesday is Warm-up/Wind pant Wednesday! You may wear warm ups or wind pants. The Sunshine Committee will also be providing a hot chocolate bar in the teacher's lounge every Wednesday morning.
  • On December 18th we are having a tacky Christmas sweatshirt contest. If you participate you get a jeans pass and could win other great prizes.

PTA Treats

On Monday, December 15 the PTA will have some yummy treats set up in the teacher's lounge for you. Be sure and stop by throughout the day!

Spring Creek BBQ donated $1100 to KHES!

Thank you to all those who attended the Spring Creek Spirit Night on November 4th! And thank you to the teachers for handing out hot rolls and carrying trays! PTA appreciates you!

Congratulations to Mrs. Sharp's second grade class, Mrs. Gremmel's second grade class, and Mrs. Mickler's fourth grade class WON for most attendance.
