Teachers Tablet Contest - PreK, 1st, & 2nd Grade Teachers

PreK, first, and second grade teachers... Please read the email sent to you today regarding tablet use in your classroom. You could win a class set of Chromebooks or Nexus tablets, but you can't win if you don't submit an entry!

Checking Out Books for Your Classroom Library

I know that everyone is in a different place regarding the development of their classroom libraries. Remember, teachers can check out as many books as they need for classroom use. We have teachers checking out 50+ book every other week to supplement their classroom libraries. If you need books, let Nancy or I know.

iStation Testing on Chromebooks... Help with Issues

If your students have completed iStation testing on their Chromebooks, you may have experienced some minor issues with students getting "kicked out" of their testing. Here are a couple of ways to resolve this issue when it happens:

  • Have the student click the back button (the left arrow button at the top of their keyboard). This should return them to their test, in the location were they left off.

  • If the above doesn't work... on the students Chromebook, go into their browsing history. Click "Clear Browsing Data". Uncheck browsing history and download history (this leaves only "Cookies..." and "Cached..." checked. Click "Clear Browsing Data" and had student log back into iStation.

If you are still having issues, with a student testing on their Chromebook, please let me know.

Tech in Action @ Crippen

If you are doing something in you class, please let me know. I would love to feature all of our amazing teachers at some point during the year. Featured teachers, stop by my office to get a jeans pass courtesy of Mrs. Mayes.

Upcoming Video Conference Opportunities for your students

Meet the nine-banded armadillo and the striped skunk. Although their defense behaviors and adaptations are beneficial to them in their wild environment, these same behaviors do not fare well in urban habitats. Most people cannot help but turn up their noses when they think about these two animals, but after our class, we hope your feelings change. Join us as we clear up some common untruths and add clarity to their unique structures and functions with the help of our friendly guest stars!
