PENN PRIDE: we have. we are.

From our Penn PTO:

We invite you to attend PTO meetings to meet other parents and staff, help make decisions that positively affect our students, and learn about resources in our school and district. Child care is provided during meetings for toilet trained children.

Please note that most meetings are the first Tuesday of each month however our September meeting is the 2nd Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday and other school conflicts.

PTO Fundraising

Our first Penn PTO fundraiser, Red Wheel Catalog sales, will begin next week. Information will be sent home with your student so check those backpacks on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sales will go through September 18th. Items will be at Penn for pick-up November 1st.

There will also be a direct donation option letter with those catalogs, for those who wish to participate in that instead.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Meeting twice a week in small teams, we teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large.

Our GOTR season will start the week of 9/3 and will run through the week of 11/10. We will have practices Mondays and Fridays from 3-4:15pm.

Thinking about orchestra?

Hello Penn Panther Parents!

I had a great time playing and demonstrating the orchestra instruments for Penn 5th graders on Monday and trying them out with the kids these last few days.

I'm writing, now, to remind you about the All-District Orchestra Open-House this coming Tuesday, September 4th (the day after Labor Day): 7:00 p.m. at West HIgh School. (Enter at the left-hand Auditorium doors and head straight back -- we'll be in the large room on your left!)

This is a great opportunity for you and the kids to meet the orchestra teachers (who'll play some fun music, too!), try instruments together, meet other parents (maybe set up carpools?), ask any questions you might have, and get a feel for the program.

While the event is not required for your child to participate in orchestra, we strongly encourage to come if you can! Families of 5th graders (and any interested 6th graders who didn't play last year) are welcome to attend!

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions (and hope to see you there)!
