ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR
Mrs. Karen Martin, CHS Assistant Principal, has been named the Chandler Chamber of Commerce Administrator of the Year. Mrs. Martin has been an administrator in CUSD for 21 years and has spent 15 at Chandler High School overseeing a number of areas, most recently Student Services. She is the first Assistant Principal to earn this honor in the history of the award. There is no one more deserving! Congratulations, Mrs. Martin!
ALL-REGION BOYS TENNIS
Congratulations to Tayson Willey, CHS 1st team All-Region Boy Tennis Singles. Tayson Willey and Luke Hase were also chosen 1st team All-Region for Boys Tennis Doubles. Great job!
AVID SENIOR CELEBRATION
Last week’s AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Senior Celebration was a great testament to the success of the college prep program. The red carpet event included dinner, class speakers, awards, and recognition of seniors, who are all college-bound. Kudos to the junior class for planning and hosting the memorable event. Special thanks to Ms. Heather Dyke, Ms. Angela Cicero, Ms. Darla Tate, and Ms. Amy Komitzky for providing leadership opportunities and college prep instruction through the AVID elective classes.
IB HL CHEMISTRY
Mrs. Knighton-Toon's IB Chem 2 students know how to get ready for their IB test ... they all showed up ready to tackle the IB HL Chemistry test in their lab coats! Our future is bright with these IB Diploma Candidates in charge.
END OF YEAR CONCERTS
This is the season for end-of-year concerts, and last week’s performances were superb! Orchestra, Dance (Intermediate and Beginning), and Band showcased their talents and a year’s worth of hard work, preparation and dedication. Great work, Wolves!

HONORS ENGINEERING CARDBOARD BOATS
Honors Engineering 1 students recently participated in cardboard boat races at the CHS swimming pool. Groups were given minimal materials (cardboard and duct tape) and were tasked to build a boat that would transport two team members across the pool and back. This is a great culminating project we look forward to all year!

CHANDLER FFA HARD AT WORK
Chandler FFA is hard at work growing Sweet Corn at Tumbleweed Park. Watch for Sweet Corn and vegetable sales at the end of May. $6 per dozen.

PATHWAY TO May 30th GRADUATION
We are now accepting reservations for handicapped and multi-generational seating for graduation. May 18th is the deadline. To obtain access to the field for handicapped seating, you must have a pass for entry. Seating is limited so please make your reservations as soon as possible. Please contact Mrs. Baum for handicapped seating and Mrs. Claudio for multi-generational seating in the administrative offices at 480-812-7700.
DUAL ENROLLMENT TUITION ASSISTANCE
Do you plan on doing Dual Enrollment classes next school year and need help with the cost?
Applications for the Maricopa Grant are due by:
Priority Deadline: Thursday, May 31st
Final Deadline: Friday, August 31st
Don't miss the deadline and miss your chance to be awarded tuition for your dual enrollment classes! Funds are awarded on a first-come first-serve basis and eligibility is based on financial need. If you don't apply now and decide this fall to take a dual enrollment class, the funds may be gone.
There is no commitment to register for classes if your plans change in the fall, but applying now allows you to determine your eligibility and become pre-qualified for funding.
Students must apply now to receive tuition assistance for the dual classes they plan on taking in the 2018-2019 school year. Please refer to the Tuition Assistance link on our website for more information and access to a packet which includes: an informational cover sheet and application. Please be sure to follow the directions carefully as incomplete applications cannot be processed.

Seniors, please keep track of ALL scholarships/offers you have received, even if you are attending a different school or using only one scholarship/offer. Please attach a copy of all scholarships/offer letters to the Scholarships Offered Form. You must star * the scholarship/offer you are accepting. Please turn in this form to Ms. Jaramillo in the College and Career Center ASAP.
