The Wilmot Word: 04-14-22

Reminder - No School Tomorrow, April 15

A Great Week at Wilmot!!

This was a short but busy week. The highlight of the week was our first ever Wilmot choir concert held last night. Ms. Georges and the choir did a great job performing songs such as The Papaya Song, This is Me, and Banana! The students had a great time and were all smiles as they performed for parents and guests.

Wilmot students were also featured in the Deerfield Patch. Click here to see a wonderful article about the fifth-grade robotics program.

Wilmot is Turning 175!

175th Logo Contest

This week we let our students know that Wilmot is turning 175 years old! This is a special anniversary called a demisemiseptcentennial. We are inviting students in grades K-4 to help kick off our celebration by creating a special logo to honor our 175th anniversary. We will use this logo on various displays next year. Students are invited to submit a logo idea through Friday 4/22/22. we will collect all submissions in the front office. Students and staff will participate in voting for the winning logo once all of the design entries are turned in.

Entries can be hand-drawn, or created on a computer, printed, and glued onto the entry form. Please use the link below which will make a copy of the entry on Google Drawing.

Mrs. Dubin also has entry forms available outside the art room.

Please complete this form even if your child is transferring to another DPS109 school.

As part of our district's vision to develop students that are emotionally resilient, socially skilled, and academically prepared, DPS 109 invites our community, alongside our teachers, staff, and district administrators to watch the documentary "Chasing Childhood" and attend an optional discussion session on Tuesday, May 3rd.

The documentary will be available to watch on demand between April 21st and May 3rd for up to 1,000 people. Watch your inbox next Thursday for a link to the film and a link to sign up for the community discussion.
