MONTGOMERY ELEMENTARY
IS EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE
that Karen Celesti, school based therapist, will be providing students and families access to private mental health services full-time in the 2019-2020 school year.
Celesti is a licensed Independent Social Worker with 24 years of professional mental health experience. Since 2001, she has been working at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the Emergency Department and the Division of Endocrinology. Prior to serving children and their families in Cincinnati, she provided counseling services to cancer patients at Duke University Medical Center. She has also served as a clinical therapist and partial hospitalization coordinator at Psych Systems of Cincinnati. Celesti received her Master of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati. Karen spent the 2018-2019 school year serving students at Montgomery and Maple Dale Elementary.
The partnership with Cincinnati Children’s and their services does not require any financial support from the district. Students and families needing services can cover therapy visits through private insurance, Medicaid, or private pay options. Assistance may be available for families experiencing financial difficulty.
Parents, teachers and school counselors can make student referrals for service. Students can also self refer for services. Ultimately, the decision to move forward with therapeutic services is up to the family. If you would like to make a referral for your child you can contact your child’s teacher, Dr. Debelak at debelaka@sycamoreschools.or or Mrs. Hill at hille@sycamoreschools.org
If you would like additional information about Karen’s services, or the district mental health initiatives, contact Lisa Zelvy via email at zelvyl@sycamoreschools.org or via phone at (513) 686-1700

BOOSTERTHON
is Back!
Yee haw!! Saddle up and put on your finest cowboy hat because Boosterthon is back to Montgomery for its sixth year running as our most profitable Fall fundraiser!
Boosterthon is a character and fitness program that visits our school for 2 weeks. During that time, Boosterthon team members meet with our children DAILY to teach valuable character lessons through inspirational stories and team-building activities. Our event will culminate in a Fun Run, where students will collect pledges for completing laps around the Boosterthon track. Parents are encouraged to attend and cheer on the students as they run outside this year! *weather permitting
Students are trailblazing with the Mark Spark kids on a journey through: MIND SPARK Wild West! Boosterthon’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the Mind Spark Kids in duels to save Dr. Shock from the outlaw Bully Malone and his No-Good Gang, our students will learn five traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Honesty
Gratitude
Kindness
Humility
Generosity
We hope to show our students that everyone has the ability to change the world.
To further this mission, Montgomery Elementary PTO is teaming up with Sycamore Bridges, a charitable organization that is helping Sycamore children and families in need. Ten percent of the funds raised will go towards supporting this amazing local program! For more information, you can visit: https://www.neighborhoodbridges.org/community/sycamore
