Park Terrace Elementary
December 1, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable break! I am truly shocked that it is December already! Did we not just welcome our new kindergarteners what feels like a week ago? The time has truly flown by this school year. We are now into the final days of Trimester 1, and I hope each student here is working to finish strong.
As a reminder, there is no school this Friday, December 3 and Monday, December 6. Our staff will be using these days for grading, communication and professional learning. Trimester 2 begins on Tuesday, December 7.
This trimester’s report cards will be posted online on December 9, 2021 after 5 p.m. on Campus Parent Portal. Watch a video tutorial on how to access your student’s report card if you need help logging in. If you have any questions, please contact the main office at 763-600-5600.
Please know that report cards are just one of the many ways teachers report on student learning throughout the year. Report card grades reflect student learning and teachers look at evidence of learning over time to determine where students are at in their learning at the time of report cards. At the end of a trimester, all grades reflect the learning that occurred at the time of the report card. Grades for Park Terrace are:
- MS: Minimal progress toward the standard
- AS: Approaching the standard
- S: Met the standard
- ES: Exceeds the standard
You may also see two other marks on the report card:
- An NA indicates that the student did not have the opportunity to learn this outcome throughout the trimester. Students will have the opportunity to address this standard later on in the year.
- An NE indicates that the student did have the opportunity to learn this outcome but did not provide evidence to support his/her learning. A student with an outcome marked as NE will have the opportunity to address this at a later date.
Keep up the great work Park Terrace! Let’s finish this trimester strong!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
