Stone Bank School to Celebrate Unity Day
Stone Bank School is going to celebrate Unity Day
Wednesday, October 23, 2019
What is Unity Day? It’s a day that everyone can come together—in schools, communities, and online—and send one large ORANGE message of support, hope, and unity to show that we are together against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion.
What are your true colors when it comes to bullying? If you care about safe and supportive schools and communities, make your color ORANGE on Unity Day. Wear ORANGE to school on Wednesday, October 23rd. It can be an orange T-shirt, hat, wristband, socks, or even shoelaces.
We encourage staff and students who do not have an orange t-shirt to wear, or are looking for one, to buy a PACER exclusive 2019 UNITY DAY shirt available for $12.00 at represent.com/pacer They do have youth sizes. Order soon to ensure it arrives before October 23rd!
Student Council will also have the students sign an ORANGE banner on that day. The banner will be a pledge that we are a school that believes...“Together Against Bullying — United for Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion!”
Futura Spanish Opportunity
Spanish classes start 10/15 at Stone Bank Elementary. We still have open enrollment on our roster at this time, we currently have 5 student enrolled.
I know you shared our information a few weeks ago -- would you be able to share an updated communication with your families to encourage participation?
I have typed up a passage for you to share with your families – along with attached registration flier.
SPANISH CLUB STARTS OCTOBER 15th -Don’t miss out!
Studies show that children learn another language easiest when it is practical in their everyday lives or is a topic that’s fun and interesting. This year’s 16-week class Vamos a comer y Vamos con los animales has both! Your child will learn how to order at a restaurant and set the table--all in Spanish! Students will also learn animal related Spanish while “visiting” a pet store, a farm, the zoo, and even the rainforest! – Futura’s interactive, conversational approach will get students speaking “REAL WORLD” Spanish before you know it!
¡Vámonos! Limited space remains on the roster! Register: https://futuraadventures.com/wisconsin-region/

Middle School Woodworking Event
Attention: Woodworkers!!!
Attention: 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students/Families.
Stone Bank Woodworking Event: Picnic Table Project
October 19, 2019
9:30 AM-1:30 PM
On Saturday, October 19, 2019 Stone Bank students/parents are invited to join our initial community working event. Based on the request of some of our middle schoolers, we have planned to build 3 outdoor picnic tables.
We are excited to share the event is being supported thanks in part to a tool donation from Milwaukee Tools. The Waukesha County Business Alliance helps to coordiante the donation and we are excited to put the tools to use. In addition, we are thankful for the support of the Stone Bank PTO. The PTO has been a long-time champion of raising funds to help support school/student requests.
The event will is being planned with a technical education teacher from the Waukesha STEM Academy, and under his guidance, we will create a safe environment for constructing the tables. In addition, adults will be using/modeling the use of certain power tools, and students will be guided on the safe use of specific age-appropriate tools.
Given the nature of the event, we do require a parent to participate/accompany their child. We plan to hold the event outside on the middle school playground. To help us plan for the event, please RSVP to: kmagnuson@stonebank..k12.wi.us
Expertise/Volunteers? If you have experience in woodworking, or similar projects, and wish to volunteer please let us know! r.krohn@waukesha.k12.wi.us
See you on 10/19, 2019 @ Stone Bank!
