Celebrate Black History Month - Resources for Classrooms

Man in the Middle: Thomas Day and the Free Black Experience

Titles, anyone?

Thank you PTSA for your gift to the library to purchase new books. If you have a title or author you would like to see in our library, please forward it to me. I'm especially interested in what your students want to read, professional titles, and subject area books.

I'm buying books!!!!

Summer opportunities for primary resources

Probably the single experience that meant the most to me as a teacher/librarian was a week I spent as an American Memory Teaching Fellow at the Library of Congress, working on a lesson with a history teacher about post reconstruction African American life in the U.S. I learned so much about web tools, using primary sources, and this time period in our history. I had the opportunity to work alongside many people who would become educational heroes.

It was fabulous.

Destiny + NCWiseOwl = LOVE

The catalog Destiny will be combining NCWiseowl features (in the very near future) when students search a topic. Already, Destiny shows print, ebooks and audio visual resources in the new browser.
