After School Program - Fall Session

Today is the last day to register for this year's After School Program on MyPaymentsPlus.

Class Options are:

Robotics (Grades 3-5):

Come and experience the fun of Legos and the complexity of computer programming. What a thrill to see your Lego robot move as you have commanded! LIMITED to the FIRST 24 students that sign-up and pay through MyPaymentsPlus.

Running/Walking Club (Grades K-5):

Students will be divided up according to grade level (K-1 together, 2-3 together, and 4-5 together). We will run/walk every session, as well as discuss ways to increase our pace and timing. We will also discuss health topics.

Program Dates & Times:

All classes will be held on Thursday afternoons from 3:10-4:10. Students will stay at school during dismissal and attend their clubs from there.

Fall Session: 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10, & 11/7

Cost: The cost is $40 for each session (6 classes). Please register and pay online through MyPaymentsPlus. (This is the only option for payment.)

Attendance: This program is optional and attendance is not mandatory. There will be NO refunds for absences or withdrawals from the program.

Transportation: Transportation home is not provided. Students will need to be picked up at 4:10 in the car rider lane. Students must have a car rider number in order to participate. In signing your child up for a program, you are agreeing to pick up your child at 4:10 PM. Students will be withdrawn from the program if they cannot be picked up on time.

Dyer's Fall Festival is Next Friday!

Dyer Elementary School’s

2016 Fall Festival

Friday, October 7, 2016

5:00 PM—8:00 PM

Inflatables, Games, Food, Music and Fun

Wristbands are available now and at the door for only $10.00 per student.

Methods of Payment: My Payments Plus

At the Door: Cash or Credit

(Includes unlimited jumping and carnival games)

Carnival treats and fun will also be available for 1 ticket (1 ticket = $1)

We will have popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, crazy hair, and our famous cake walk!

Be sure to enter to win one of our themed baskets!

Raffle tickets are just $1 and all proceeds benefit Dyer's Cultural Arts Program.

Don't worry about cooking! We have two fabulous food vendors that will be on site serving up some delicious dinners:

Meatheads BBQ Menu: Pulled pork BBQ sandwich/ chicken tenders w/fries or chips


The Five Spot Cafe Menu: hamburger/cheeseburger/ grilled chicken sandwich w/chips.

Donations Still Needed for Fall Festival Baskets

The deadline to turn in items for our basket raffle has been extended to Wednesday 10/5! If you have not yet made a donation, please consider doing so. Remember, all proceeds benefit our Cultural Arts program. Basket themes are listed below. No time to shop? No worries, we are accepting monetary donations, and will send a staff member to shop and fill-in the baskets as needed!

Disney Mania: Kindergarten and Pre-K

Boys Sleepover: 1st Grade

UGA: 2nd Grade

Girls Sleepover: 3rd Grade

Family Fun Night: 4th Grade

Fun Fall: 5th Grade

September Bear Reader Logs are Due Monday

Students should turn completed September Reading Logs in to their teachers on Monday. Reading logs are grade specific this year, if you've misplaced yours simply follow this link to the PTA website, and print a new one!

Here are a few important reminders about the program:

  • September Reading logs are due to your child's teacher Monday 10/3
  • Students that log a minimum of 450 minutes earn a special prize!
  • Class (in each grade level) with MOST minutes logged each period will earn ice cream!
  • Reader with MOST minutes logged (in each grade level) each period will win a $10 gift card!
  • Reader with the MOST minutes logged (in the school) for the year will get to pie Mr. DiFilippo in the face!

Easy Fundraising Turn in Monday 10/3

Don't forget to include your child's name & teacher name!

Chorus News - Mark Your Calendars!

Dear Chorus Members,

Practice on Tuesday, October 11th has been rescheduled to Thursday, October 13th. I will be in a meeting with the State Superintendent representing the Fine Arts and Music Education for the State Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council.

Practice the week of October 10th will be:

Wednesday, October 12th at 7:15

Thursday, October 13th at 7:15.
