Principal's Message
Dear Hoover families,
Welcome back! I hope that students and families enjoyed having Monday April 18th off!
We have officially entered the last stretch for the 21-22 school year! As we approach the end of the school year here is some information that will be important to keep in mind for this and next year as well.
The first round of ELPAC has been completed, we will now work on test make ups, this is only or students who may have missed the regularly scheduled assessment. The window for completing ELPAC will close on April 29th.
State testing will take place this year (The testing window is from May 9-27). This is a very important test, please make sure that your child attends school daily and on time every day, but most particularly during those dates.
We have two very important field trips coming up:
5th graders will be going to Outdoor Ed the week of May 9-13

Pls check the Important Dates given below so you can be aware of what will be going on for the last week of school.
Special request from Sigona's market, pls do not park there while you are dropping/collecting your students off on campus. Should you need to have a space to park, please use the parking space behind the gym, or try to find parking spaces around campus.

CASSPP STATE TESTING FOR 3RD-8TH GRADERS
CASSPP State testing will return this year, the windows for assessment will be from May 9th -May27th. This test is for English Language Arts and also for Math for all students from 3rd-8th grade. You can find more info on this website.
Tutoring/Homework help for students 3-5 grade
Tutor.com is available or students who would like to benefit from additional homework support. Students can access the website with their own login, pls sign up.DRESS CODE
HOOVER HAS A DRESS CODE that all students must abide by. We've worked diligently to obtain school uniforms for all students on campus and the family center is working hard to distribute them almost on a daily basis. PLEASE HELP US BY ENSURING THAT YOUR CHILD ABIDES BY THE DRESS CODE, and if your child needs to get an uniform, pls come to the Family Center to get them.
Research has found that school dress codes allow students to concentrate on educational activities, they also make it easier for students to get ready for school every day, limit the distractions that may arise in the classroom, and help school administrators easily spot trespassers. In addition, a DRESS CODE creates a great sense that we all belong to the same team, THE HOOVER TEAM! A reminder that the DRESS CODE adopted by Hoover, was voted on by the School Site Council which is comprised y teachers, parents and staff, and they all thought that having a dress code is of great help when maintaining a safe school environment. I know we all love that, so please help us out!

6th to 8th Grades

Unacceptable: The following items are not permitted to be worn at any time at school: bandanas of any color, hair nets, make-up, sleeveless blouses, low-cut tops or short tops that show midriff, baggy pants, pants worn below the waistline, miniskirts, baggy shirts, chains, pagers, laser pointers, any gang related paraphernalia, sweat pants and leggings.
Denim pants and blue jeans may not be worn as part of the uniform.
On designated “free dress” days, regular standards for appropriate school clothing will apply, except that jeans may be worn. NO EXCESSIVE RIPPED JEANS will be accepted as part of the dress code.

Parents, please be aware that there have been recent changes and updated to the Pandemic Recovery Framework, please take the time to read and note those changes.
