Hadley Band Students Engage with Professional Composer

The Hadley Jr. High 8th Grade Band had the opportunity to work with composer Randall D. Standridge in a virtual clinic setting on Wednesday, March 23. Mr. Standridge is widely known for his excellent compositions for elementary, middle and high school bands. The 8th Grade Band is currently learning two of his pieces, Cha'La and Brave Spirit. Mr. Standridge listened to the band’s performance and offered constructive feedback. He also spoke to the cultural significance and creation of the piece, as well as his life as an active composer and clinician. Ms. Tribley and Mr. Cooper would like to thank the Hadley PTA for making this unique experience possible for the students.

St. Baldrick’s Event a Huge Success

Led by Ms. Baumgartner, The Hadley Builders’ Club held a St. Baldrick’s Foundation hair shaving event in the Hadley Auditorium to help raise awareness and money to fight childhood cancer. Over 200 students, staff and family members came to watch 14 participants have their head shaved to help raise money. Dave Johnston of Chicalba Bagpiping Services provided tunes for the event. The combined efforts of the Builders Club has raised over $17,000. Congratulations Hadley staff and students for your work to benefit this important cause.
