Ensuring StudentVUE and Synergy Grades Match
- the grades you see in your Grade Book are the grades students and parents see in StudentVUE and ParentVUE, respectively.
- your students' grades are up-to-date and accurate.
- you have no "orphaned" assignments in your Grade Book.
Please take the time to double-check the assignments and their corresponding periods in your grade book.
Step #1:
Go to “Grade Book” and select “Assignments.”
Step #2:
Click on the tab “Grading Periods.”
Step #3:
Change the display of assignments if necessary.
Step #4:
Begin in Grading Period “1ST Progress Rpt.”Step #5:
Look for assignments included only in “1ST Progress Rpt.” These assignments are “orphaned” and need to be included in all progress periods through either first term or the semester (this depends on whether or not you continue grades throughout the semester or restart them every term).
Below, the first two assignments are “orphaned,” as they are not included in any grading period other than “1ST Progress Rpt.”
Step #6:
Include ALL assignments in “1ST Progress Rpt” for ALL progress periods (according to your grading policy) by clicking the “All” box under each grading period the assignment should be in.
Step #7:
Once ALL assignments in “1ST Progress Rpt.” have been included in all grading periods, click “Save Grading Periods.”
Step #8:
Now, let’s look for orphaned assignments in “2ND Progress.” Change the grading period to “2ND Progress.”
Step #9:
Here, we see one orphaned assignment.
Again, we’ll need to click the “All” box under every grading period to ensure this assignment is included in all progress periods.
Step #10:
Click “Save Grading Periods.”
Step #11:
Repeat Steps 4-10 for every class. Change classes using the “Class” drop-down menu.Step #12:
When you have finished checking 1ST Progress and 2ND Progress Rpt. for all classes, return to Grade Book Main.
Be sure you are in “1ST Term / 1ST Quarter” (in Grade Book Main) for every class.
