PreCollege Programs is seeking to hire qualified college students for their 2016 Summer Programs.

Student Employee Requirements:

· Must be in good standing academically, and with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Residence Life and University Conduct Policies.

· Must be at sophomore status or higher by February 2016, with a 2.7 Cum GPA or higher.

· Must demonstrate exceptional leadership skills that include: integrity, patience, excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and strong verbal communication skills.

· Must have hands-on volunteer and/or work experience and like working with middle and high school students from economically-disadvantaged and diverse cultural backgrounds.

· Must live in the residence halls with program participants and able to chaperone and tutor 24 hours a day.

This workshop is for students who prepare well for class exams but consistently receive low test scores. The workshop facilitators will help students define the problem and develop useful solutions.

The workshop will take 60 minutes and the content is the same for all sessions. Don’t wait any longer— come to learn proven techniques that will help! Study skills, note taking, and testing strategies are not covered in this workshop. Please call the Reading & Study Center at 424-1031 if you need assistance in these areas.

Summer Affirmative Action Internship Program

The Summer Affirmative Action Internship Program (SAAIP) is an internship program offered by the state of Wisconsin. The Department of Administration, Division of Personnel Management, (DOA DPM) Bureau of Affirmative Action (BAA) administers SAAIP and provides students with valuable work experience and training in various branches of state government.

To be eligible to participate in the SAAIP, you must meet the following:

You must be a student enrolled at a college/university or enrolled in a vocational/technical school program. Proof of enrollment is required.The SAAIP process is highly competitive. Please be sure to apply only for positions in which you have experience and can answer interview questions regarding that experience. To increase the chances of being hired, each intern should have good knowledge and experience in the study or knowledge areas associated with each position and be able to commit to working in various locations around the state. For example, living in Madison, but being able to commit to working in Milwaukee, or vice versa could increase your chances of gaining an interview.
