CRE Spirit Night at Chick-Fil-A!
Field Day Thursday
FIELD DAY is this Thursday, October 6, 2022. Please sign in at the front office to watch your child participate or if you have signed up to be a specific volunteer. Please make sure you bring your Driver’s License/photo ID with you to the office the day of field day. To help with traffic in the office, we will send a separate email out on Tuesday to gather names of parents expecting to come up for the event. If you have already signed in to the school before with your ID, we'll be able to pre-print your visitor sticker to help speed up the process.
Please apply sunscreen BEFORE sending your child to school (teachers are unable to apply sunscreen for their students). If the weather is chilly, please send a light jacket with your child. Please have your child wear their team color, tennis shoes/sneakers, and they may also wear hats and sunglasses. Please also send a water bottle labeled with your child’s name.

News from the Library
Hello CRE families! As we are getting into the fall season here is a resource that can help your family fall into good habits when using technology! The link below will take you to a Family Media Agreement developed by Common Sense Education. We are a Common Sense Recognized School and strive to teach our students how to be positive and responsible media users. The link below is a great way to start conversations about:
- Staying safe online
- Taking care of your device
- Staying balanced with the use of technology
- Think critically about the things we find online
I hope that this Family Media Agreement gives your family an opportunity to be open about how we use technology. Technology is wonderful, when we use it the right way!

WatchD.O.G.S. Information
We enjoyed meeting new potential WatchDOGS this past week! If you weren't able to attend but are still interested in learning more and signing up, this post is for you! :-)
I passed out these information pages (attached as PDFs below):
- All About the WatchDOGS Program
- WatchDOGS official shirt order
- Sample Orientation
- Sample Daily Schedule
- VOLY (Volunteer) information
- WatchDOGS Registration Form
Create Your LISD Volunteer Account here
Order your uniform t-shirt here (your choice in shirt)
Direct Link to CRE WatchDOGS in VOLY
We look forward to having you volunteer! Please remember to follow all of the following steps:
- Create an account on VOLY, completing the background check during the process. Please allow up to 3 weeks for processing the background check. If your background check is approved, you will receive an e-mail from partnerships@lisd.net letting you know that you can sign up for volunteer opportunities on VOLY
- See link above for CRE WatchDOGS opportunities. You'll be able to sign up once your LISD VOLY account is active and background check is complete.
- Complete the WatchDOGS Registration Form for CRE
- Purchase your official WatchDOGS shirt. Lots of choices are available! Order your shirt soon enough to have it shipped to you before you volunteer. The most common option is the official white t-shirt, but feel free to purchase the other options if those work better for you. Kids shirts are available, too!
Coyote Ridge PTA (Parent-Teacher Association)
Parents, we invite you to join the CRE PTA! Along with spirit wear sales will be online membership and registration. I encourage ALL parents/guardians and staff to join, and we will continue to aim for 100% membership. Please remember that your membership dues go to support the school with items and programs that directly and positively impact your child's learning experience at CRE. Your membership also helps us have a collective voice in matters that impact education as a whole. Your membership in no way obligates you to any specific volunteer tasks or participation in meetings, but we'd love to have you! We proudly aim for 100% CRE staff participation, and we'd love to get as many families in as possible. Grandparents, neighbors, and community members are welcome members as well!
To join PTA and/or order CRE Spirit Wear, click on our CRE PTA website below and follow the steps. REMINDER: Membership dues go to support the school with programs directly impacting our students learning experience at CRE. Joining the PTA, in no way obligates you to specific volunteer events or participation in meeting. We would love to have you join, but there is NO obligation.
