Greetings Lemira Family:

Welcome to the first full week in October. We are exciting to be moving forward in this school year as we face new opportunities and growth for our students.

Thank you to our building service workers who keep our classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and grounds maintained, cleaned, and sanitized on a daily basis. We appreciate you!!!

9/22 - 10/8 1st Quarter Parent Conferences

Teachers will schedule individual student/parent conferences to discuss students' first quarter progress

10/4 Fall Parent University @ 6pm

10/4 - Grade Level Monthly Newsletters will go home in blue communication/hmwk folders

10/11 - 10/15 1st Quarter Benchmark Assessment for Reading, Math, and Writing

(Grades 3rd - 5th Only)

10/11 - 10/15 National Lunch and National Metric Week

10/11 - 10/15 Family Night Math Challenge (Details will be presented at the Parent University)

10/11 COGNIA Testing for 2nd Graders

10/12 - WOW about Lunch National Lunch Celebration

10/13 Make-Up Pictures

10/21 District PD (1/2 Day for Students)

10/22 Workday/Inservice Day (No School for students)

10/25 - 10/29 Red Ribbon Spirit Week

10/28 Book Character Parade (AM - During School Day)

Students will dress in costume as their favorite book characters

10/28 PTO Sponsored Fall Festival 4pm - 6pm

1. Title One Fall Parent University:

Please join us Monday, October 4 for our Virtual Fall Parent University. Various Topics will be discussed to assist families with supporting our student learners. Please reference our flyer for details.

Also, please register in advance. The opening link will be sent to the email address listed.

Flyers and Paper copies of the registration form were also be sent home in students' blue communication folders if you are in need of a paper copy of the registration form.

* Door Prizes will be given to those in attendance.

2. Updates Sumter School District Face Masks Mandate: Effective Monday, October 4, all students, staff, and visitors will be required to wear face masks on school grounds and busses. Please reference the SSD letter "Oct 1 Face Mandate" above.

3. 1st Quarter Parent Conferences: Parent conferences are currently taking place for all students in grades PreK - 5 at Lemira. If you have not received a conference invite from the teacher, please notify your child's teacher or front desk.
