ACT Registration

If you are testing at another location on December 12th, you must bring a copy of your ACT admission ticket to Ms. Weir by this Friday, December 4 in order to claim your early release E-learning time during 4th and 5th block on Friday, December 11th! Also, do not forget to upload your picture today. Be sure to look straight in the camera, no hats, and no one else in the photo.

Christmas Music All Around

It's not just looking like Christmas; it sounds like it! The HGHS Band put on a wonderful performance last night at the Christmas Concert! Don't miss the Christmas Choir Concert on December 8th, at First Baptist of Hazel Green. They are performing “All I want for Christmas is You” and several other Christmas favorites. Don't miss it!

French Club Dues

The deadline to join French Club is this Friday, December 4th. The fee is $10.00. You can submit your payment to www.myschoolfees.com or Mrs. Braudaway. The French Club will meet again on Wednesday, December 9th after school. We will be having crepes. Please stop by Mrs. Braudaway's room Cll2 to sign up to bring some food items for the party and to sign up to donate a few things to our Christmas adopted Grandparents. Lists will be posted outside of room Cll2.

Basketball: Trojans vs. Patriots

Area play tips-off tonight! We need all of the Trojan fans in the stands when Bob Jones comes to town. You don't want to miss it! Junior Varsity teams tip-off at 4:30 PM, the Freshman Boys and the Varsity Girls at 6:00 PM, and lastly the Varsity Boys at 7:30 PM. Look forward to seeing everyone at the game! Monday we will head to Wallace State, more detail to come.

December 8th, the Trojan Nation will take on the Randolph Raiders at Pin Palace. Don't miss the Trojans out striking the Raiders!

Really Bad Advice

Join us in the cafeteria for a comedy about the wonders of bad advice on December 10th at 6:00 PM. The cost is $5.00. Look forward to seeing you!

Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form in to Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.


Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend
- Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.

1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.

2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.

3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.

Juniors Have Free Access to ACT Online Prep - All juniors will receive a personal user name and password to the ACT Online Prep website. This is a great resource to be used in preparing for the ACT Plus Writing assessment which will be given to all of our juniors during school. All students are strongly encouraged to utilize this service provided to us. For more information, visit http://www.actstudent.org/onlineprep/.


First Priority/FCS
meets every Tuesday morning at 8:00 in the Black Box Theatre. All students are welcome to attend.


Parenting Assistance Line:
PAL is a service where anyone can call a toll free number 1-866-962-3030 and receive useful, practical information and assistance with developmental and parenting questions and concerns. Available 8:00am – 8:00pm (central time) Monday – Friday.


Recycle:
Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.


Reward Cards:
Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit:
Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.


Loyalty Reward Tags:
(Hazel Green Pharmacy Loyalty Key Tag Program) Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your loyalty key tag when you visit Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you purchase a Prescription/Gift/OTC have them swipe your tag. HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a loyalty key tag, just stop by the main office to pick one up.
