The Riebli Record
December 11, 2020
A note from Mrs. Todd
Dear Riebli families,
This was one of those weeks that by Monday evening I thought to myself, "How did all of that happen in JUST one day?!" And now, it's Thursday night as I write this and I'm thinking, "How is it already Thursday?!"
I want to congratulate you all for the ways in which you are growing as parents, family members, teachers, mentors, and everything in between! There are so many things that are hard right now and I find joy in celebrating the ways in which we have grown and changed as a group. For example, just take the life skill "flexibility". If you stop and think about all the ways you're flexible and adaptable these days, it's kind of unbelievable. Remember when we used to get annoyed or really frustrated by the slightest change in our schedules or routines? So many things we used to get hung up on just don't matter as much any more. Or, they still matter, but we realize they are out of our control so we shrug our shoulders and move on.
I hope this weekend, you can find some time to check in with your kids. Not the, "How's Distance Learning going?" type of check in but the, "Tell me how you're really doing? What emotions are you feeling lately? What feels hard? Show me an assignment you feel really proud of. What was the last thing that brought you joy? How do you turn things into Google Classroom? Let me hear one of your Seesaw posts."
There are a lot of things we aren't sure of these days but one thing we do know is that our kids feel isolated. You're their only hope most days. What gives you hope? What and who are you holding on to?
XO,
Emily
CREW is proud to announce The CREW Performing Arts Program
Riebli Parents-
We hope that you are all holding up well during these unprecedented and crazy times in our kids' education. We are missing our CREW friends and have come up with a fun and enriching after school activity to enable us to support and socialize together.
CREW is proud to announce The CREW Performing Arts Program. Coming to Riebli in January. 2021. THIS PROGRAM IS FOR GRADES 3-6.
In the past few months many classic movies have done table reads over Zoom to support various non profits. We are excited to produce our own original play which will be performed over Zoom. We are fortunate to have the talents of Fidaa Shaheen an active Petaluma educator that has written and directed many plays for elementary students. She will guide us through the process which will include rehearsals 2 to 3 days per week culminating in a live recorded show. Parents and community members will be given a link to watch and share. All interested students will be given a role in the production. Dates and times for the rehearsals and showings will be announced in early December. The rehearsals will run about 6 weeks prior to the show.
If your student is interested in participating, please fill out and return the attached sign up form to lromstad@teamcrew.org
As always, thanks so much for your continued support of CREW.

Monthly Parent Meetings
To be honest, I don't feel my parent meetings in the evening are the most effective way to answer of all of your questions. I have been brainstorming how to make this more effective for you and your time.
So, I have created a google form for you to write your questions in and then I will answer via email and in a video shared by all.
Feel free to also email me any questions you may have.
I did receive my first question:
If our feelings/comforts change regarding the return to school survey, will we be able to make a switch. So much has changed, and I imagine will continue to change as the weeks and months progress and where we stand now is different than when we took the survey.
The answer is yes!! When we move to hybrid, Mandy and Lisa will be calling again when we are given the green light to open to verify your choices.
Keep the questions coming!
