Brandt's Friday Message

Greetings Brandt Community –

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had the chance to rest and relax over the holiday break. These two days gave us a chance to get back into the swing of things before we pick back up with a full five day school week this coming Monday. The students and staff got right back to work as if we never left and I am quite proud of them for doing so. As I walked around the building and in and out of classrooms, teachers continue to deliver engaging and thoughtfully planned lessons. From subtraction in kindergarten, to self-portraits in art, to fitness obstacle courses in Phys Ed, to New Year’s resolutions in Language Arts, we certainly made the most of the first instructional days of 2020!

Looking ahead, please be sure to mark the two following dates on your calendars. On Thursday, January 9th, the Hoboken High School Athletic Department is sponsoring Redwings Family Night as the Boys Varsity Basketball Team takes on University Charter School of Jersey City at 4:30 PM in the HHS gymnasium. Admission is $2 per student and $3 per adult, but is free if you bring a canned food donation. The event will feature performances by the HHS Select Choir, as well as face painting, cupcakes, a halftime send-off for the Girls Varsity Basketball Team before they leave for their away game, and a “Little Redwings Cheer Section.” Also, on Friday, January 10th, the Brandt PTO will be sponsoring a Yoga Wine Down event at the Hudson Yoga Project, located at 1317 Willow Avenue Suite 2R, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. The event includes a yoga class for all levels and a wine and cheese social afterwards. The cheese platter will be donated by our resident chef mom Casey Repetti of Tickets are $40 per person and limited to the first 25 registrants. Based on our short but important time together this week, I have no doubt 2020 will be a fantastic year for our school community! Have a great weekend, and I leave you with:
